Civic Local Foundation is proud to award grants to North Carolina nonprofits making a difference
Civic Local Foundation is pleased to award community grants to three North Carolina nonprofit recipients: One Dozen Who Care, Southern Alamance Family Empowerment, and The Joel Fund. We are proud to support these organizations focused on serving their community members.
One Dozen Who Care
One Dozen Who Care is a nonprofit based out of Cherokee County created to build community bonds and help lower-income people of color develop marketable skills. The organization offers diverse programs to help bridge the gaps in their community.
One Dozen Who Care will use the grant funds to launch the Multicultural Women’s Development Program, designed to provide financial, health and technology literacy training and mentoring.
Southern Alamance Family Empowerment
Southern Alamance Family Empowerment aims to empower individuals and strengthen families in Southern Alamance County by providing food assistance, developing relationships, identifying needs and seeking solutions.
Funding from the Foundation will go toward the purchase of food and supplies offered through the organization’s nursing program to participants with unique nutritional needs, health conditions, or other circumstances that require food options not available in its food pantry.
The Joel Fund
The Joel Fund connects veterans to resources and offers community-building events to help veterans adjust and reconnect to life at home. The organization, based out of Wake Forest, also provides furnishings for veterans moving into stable housing after experiencing homelessness.
The Foundation grant will help The Joel Fund to continue leading The Greater Triangle Veterans, Military, and Families Alliance and offering the veteran community peer events and one-on-one support.
