Credit union groups volunteer with Local Foundation grant recipient
Volunteers process hundreds of pounds of donated clothing
On June 8, staff members from Local Government and Civic Federal Credit Unions and Local Foundation volunteered at Note in the Pocket, a Raleigh-based nonprofit. The volunteer group, comprised of Credit Union Development Educators (CUDE), leadership and staff members, helped prepare clothing to be donated to schoolchildren in need.
“Note in the Pocket is a recent Local Foundation grant recipient,” said Jazmine Kilpatrick, Executive Director of the Local Foundation. “The organization receives thousands of pounds of donated clothing each year and relies on volunteers to help process the clothes.”
The Credit Union and Foundation volunteer group assisted with quality control, sorting, sizing, organizing and packaging clothing to help the more than 8,000 students and their families served by Note in the Pocket each year.
