Civic Local Foundation awards grants to NC nonprofits addressing housing, hunger, and human services.
Civic Local Foundation is pleased to award community grants to three North Carolina nonprofit recipients: Bountiful Blessings Food Pantry Inc., Aura Home Women Vets, and Second Home RDU. We are proud to support these organizations focused on serving their community members.
Bountiful Blessings Food Pantry
Bountiful Blessings Food Pantry is a community-based nonprofit addressing food insecurity and homelessness in Gaston County. The organization saw an increase in need in spring 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic began, and the crisis has continued.
Bountiful Blessings provides food that feeds approximately 3,000 families each week. The organization will use the Foundation grant funds to purchase much-needed food items for its weekly food pantry.
Aura Home Women Vets
Aura Home Women Vets is addressing housing and human service needs of women veterans across nine North Carolina counties. Following the devastation of Hurricane Helene, the organization is harnessing all resources to aid recovery efforts in western NC.
Funding from the Foundation will go toward emergency financial assistance for local residents, temporary housing, and transportation assistance.
Second Home RDU
Second Home RDU’s mission is to provide support to foster, adoptive, and kinship families in the Raleigh-Durham area, encouraging them to continue providing safe and caring homes to the more than 12,00 children in foster care in NC.
The organization will invest grant funds into its Support Closet program, providing families with personal hygiene items, blankets, water bottles, backpacks and meals.
